"Does your saddle fit?"

Saddle fit is about the moving dynamic horse, not the relaxed standing horse. As a rider you realize that your horse in January is not the same horse in August, or at age four to six years old. Nor is one horse of the same breed anything like the other horse of the same breed. A "one size fits all" saddle is no more inaccurate than a "one size fits shoe" for us! Custom trees might fit right now, with that pad, that rider. What about a year from now, or your next horse? What makes Specialized Saddles so unique and so successful for fitting, is that you, the rider, are able to adjust the fit yourself on this horse. Today, tomorrow, next month, next year. Own multiple horses? No problem. Don't shim every time, rather purchase a set of cushions for each horse. Carefully peel off the cushion with shim, put it away with that horses name, and attach the next horses set of shimmed cushions. With three thicknesses of cushions available and shims to fine tune the width rock and flare, each of your horses will have their own perfect fitting saddle.

Each saddle is built custom to your order, although Specialized owner Dave Kaden tries to keep some popular sizes and colors in stock for those people in a rush. All models come with our adjustable fit system that lets you precisely fit your horse. Our patented system is the only one that allows you to independently adjust all three dimensions of saddle fit: width, arch and angle. Most other adjustable fit systems let you modify width only, or have flexible panels that change angle only. But a horses' back is three dimensional and all three dimensions must be considered to achieve perfect fit. What you change out front affects what goes on out back!

In addition we have adjustments to fit you, the rider. All of our saddles have three different positions for suspending your stirrup leathers or fenders. Your leg position can be changed between forward, balanced, or centered, by moving a single screw. We also offer two seat styles: the endurance, a flatter seat with a large cutout, and the trail, a seat with a slight rise in front. Different types of riding styles call for different leg positions to achieve COMFORT, BALANCE and OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE. And at Specialized Saddles, that's what we are all about.

Specialized Saddles has introduced a new choice in "custom endurance, performance, pleasure, and show saddles", making sore backs a thing of the past!

Own and ride several horses? No problem there...simply order extra fitting cushions and a bundle of shims. Carefully peel of the cushions and shims together, and attach the next set of cushions that are shimmed for the next horse! At $55 that is a whole lot less expensive than a barn full of saddles, and you have perfect and adjustable fit every time.

Every new order comes with a set of cushions 3/4" unless specified, a large bundle of shims (enough for two horses) and a fitting DVD. Also check our calendar to meet us with your new saddle and learn the specifics of fitting. We also carry supplies for your Specialized Saddle.

TRACY WEBB SIGNATURE SERIES Saddles are a new line of both western and endurance saddles for the discriminating rider who wants something different, beautiful, yet functional with all the attributes that Specialized Saddles offer. Unique leather and tooling/design offerings.

ENGLISH SADDLES: the cutback and dressage

Built with traditional seat positioning for daily training or showing, the English Dressage and the NEW Cutback saddle offer the exact same three part fitting ability. Built on the same tree panels as all the Specialized Saddles, your horse will find new freedom and athleticism to perform when working out of pain. Close contact, clearance of the spine, balanced, perfect fit for the horse and rider.

Specialized custom fitting features:

Our patented adjustable fit is accomplished three ways utilizing a combination of adjustable interchangeable cushions (that take the place of stationary flocking, fleece or felt on the underside of the tree in traditional saddles) that are velcro-attached to the tree, and with various thicknesses of neoprene shims for fine-tuning.

Cushion position: by moving the cushion in front and/or in back it changes width in a "snap".

Cushion thickness: neoprene cushions come in three thicknesses for even more fitting choices.

Shims: here is where you fine tune your fit by adding arch or "rock" to fit horses with more dip in their back or in the case of a mule, a straight top line, and use varying thicknesses of neoprene shims for "voids" where the cushion against the tree does not "match" the shape of the back.

Specialized Saddles are made from the finest quality Wickett and Craig leather, and soft European leather for the seat. Our seats have been carefully engineered utilizing pressure mapping technology, and have over two layers of memory foam assuring comfortable, ergonomically correct contours so as to avoid pressure points for the rider.
