Built on one tree (semi quarter horse), this is your low-profile western saddle that you are "used to" seeing and sitting in. A traditional flat seat with a cheyenne roll cantle, short round shirted, latigo ties, leather covered horn, double layer skirting, blevins buckle western fenders, and weighing in at around 24 lbs, this is a great saddle for both children and adults alike. This saddle looks great decorated for parade or show too!
This model can be built with english fenders and stirrup leathers in place of the traditional western fenders, and sometimes called the "Kentuckian" saddle when built this way.
Stirrups: The Trail saddle comes standard with leather covered EZ Ride stirrups (a flat platform stirrup that distributes the weight and offers less concussion to your body). You can trade the endurance stirrups for tradational western, and also add leather hoods or tapederos (upgrade) for safety.
Square skirting is also available at an extra charge.
Endurance rider? You can build your trail saddle without a horn if you feel you no longer need a horn.
Decorate the saddle of your dreams with tooling, decorative diamonds or studs or jewels, rear rigging, leather saddle bags, and a matching headstall and breast collar. Visit our gallery of pictures for ideas. All ideas seen in all the photos can be incorporated into the Trail Saddle, so take a look at them all before you decide. *Only exception is you cannot put a horn on the endurance model.
What saddle pad should I use? Read Saddle Fitting first. then be sure to check out SKITO saddle pads, the pads that can help your horse "ride out of pain" by shimming the pad according to what it needs for good fit.
