The Buena Vista is a classic Plantation saddle ridden in by southerners on their large plantations, thus the name...chosen because of it's incredible comfort. Built on Millers' suspended seat, it offers a slightly forward stirrup attachment position allowing a slight angle in the thigh for most riders. Not a deep pocket seat, but rather a slightly dipped platform with a slightly wider twist. Need more security but love this saddle? Order yours with matching Bucking Rolls for security.
Buena Vista saddles can be built with either western or english fenders, a horn or no horn, mix or match. You can also order optional "fenders" that slide over the english stirrup leathers if you have a problem with pinching but want the freedom of the english.
The Buena Vista is available in two trees: the standard and the wide tree (wide being a 6.5 gullet and slightly flatter bar, more like a full quarter horse bar). We build our's with a little less leather out in front so that the saddle does not come totally over the shoulders.
Short skirted and weighing in at about 24 lbs. this is one comfortable saddle for long hours!
