The Old Timer Lightweight Western Trail saddle is historic by design with an Afork swell that offers plenty of wither clearance for even the tallest withered animals. The Old Timer is offered on dozens of custom fitted Steele Saddle Trees for hard to fit drafts, gaited, mules and donkeys, quarters, all animals. Unlike most wide western seats, our saddle is offered on our famous narrow twist (the part between your legs) suspended deep seat for an all-day, no concussion ride that alleviates the torque on your lower back, hips, and knees, and allows the rider to drop their feet right off their hips into the stirrup. You can also build a traditional narrow twist padded or a hard seat and make it really deluxe by padding the seat jocky, the part under the thigh (see photos in the gallery). There are several style choices for biothane backed, no break-in custom length fenders, all of which have 3 positions for your leg. Standard features include: JWatt conchos, a short round skirt, rear D ring for your cinch, leather strings, smooth or suede seat, several Western or English center fire rigging choices, 2 stirrup choices, and lots of stainless-steel trail hardware for carrying your gear. The Old Timer Western Trail weighs 22 lbs. with very little between you and your riding animal and touts a completely open gullet and channel from front to back for spinal clearance and heat dispersion. Available in seat sizes 15-18. We fit your saddle, you design your saddle. And after your saddle arrives, we offer saddle fit advice for your growing, changing, or multiple animals. You can also add extras such as tooling, a rear cinch, bucking rolls, and more!
