The D-D Wade Ranch, Old Timer Ranch, and the Woodard Ranch are different than our trail saddle in several ways: the tree and horn are reinforced at critical points and double-fiberglassed. We use a heavier ounce, more rugged Herman Oak leather, and the actual build of the saddle is beefed up for safety and rough ranch work. Sounds heavy weight, right? No, our Ranch models weigh an amazing mere 28 pounds! That is because we are building with the least amount of USA leather possible to maintain a close to your animal feel, an open channel off the spine, no layers and layers of unnecessary leather either. They are short and minimalist in design, very close contact, yet get the job done. Another amazing feature: we can build your ranch saddle on dozens of well-fitting tree fits by Steele Tree Company for long ears, gaited, drafts, baroque and pony breeds, quarter horses . . . all equines. Included in the base saddle are all leather, pre-twisted fenders, a smooth, ergonomically correct padded seat (you won't feel splayed out over a propane tank), deep dish cantle, a rope strap, single layer skirting that can be open or closed in the rear, several styles of rigging, several choices of horns, 3", 4", or 5" cantle with a pencil or Cheyenne roll binding, rear shearling underside, and more. You can design your ranch saddle to include upgrades such as rough out, double skirt, hard seat, carving, tooling, decorative hardware, bucking rolls, rawhide trims, a rear cinch and more. Weight 28 lbs. And don't forget matching headstalls, breast collars and rear cinches!
