The Woodard Lightweight Trail saddle is a 22 pound single skirted, close contact saddle, perfect for those seeking a low profile minimalistic all-around saddle with tree fit choices beyond semi and full quarter horse tree fits. As a style, it boasts a slightly lean forward Woodard reining style fork (a "right and left side" as opposed to an AFork half-moon shape fork), and a slightly lean forward pelican horn (there are other horns, too) and an open rear single skirt to allow the entire spine to be exposed as well as a clear channel over the spine front to back. Standard options include: a medium twist, low profile suspended or padded seat (the part between your legs), a deep dish 4” cantle or a more laid-back shorter cantle, open rear or closed skirting (open means there is not leather on the spine from front to back), felt underside, no torque no break in biothane backed trail fenders with 3 adjustments for position as well as length. Rigging choices: double C in plate (which can be 3-point center fire if you use the rear D), adjustable blevins buckle center fire western, or English center fire adjustable. Your choice of stirrups: endurance trail or angled aluminum. Lots of rings for gear, and strings JWatt conchos and strings/rings. Perfect for the Western Dressage show ring as you can adjust your fenders to be underneath you, a great training and trail saddle and perfect for everyday riding. Available in dozens of the Steel Saddle Tree fits for gaited, trotting breeds, mules and donkeys, drafts and more. There are numerous upgrades such as rough out, hard seat, two other cantle bindings, carving and tooling, decorative hardware, monel or Nettles stirrups, two cantle bindings, square skirt and more! The Woodard can also be built as a hard-working Ranch version. See Ranch Saddles for more pictures and descriptions.
